This league promotes Social and Recreational dancing for couples of all ages.
In the 'competitive' bit, teams compete on a match-play basis. Each heat features couples from 2 of the clubs competing. All clubs are present at each round. Points are scored for each head-to-head on the following basis :-

| draw | 2(2) points | points in | you don't need to be perfect, | |
| lose | 1(0) point | brackets | you just try to beat the other couple! |
| Bonus points (junior and | 1 point for each dancer in the team over 6 |
| intermediate sections only) | 1 point for each unique couple with a combined age under 30 |
| 1 point for each unique couple with a combined age over 75 | |
| 1 point for each unique couple with a combined age over 100 |
The competition takes less than an hour, which usually leaves over 2 hours for social dancing.
